Knights of Guinevere the release of Ep. 2

The Start of Something Glorious

Introduction:

A bit over a year ago Dana Terrace launched the first episode / pilot of “The Knights of Guinevere” by Glitch Studios. It skyrocketed to over 14 million views on Youtube within the first couple of days of its release. It is a Dystopian Sci-Fi look at the amusement park, and dream culture that surrounds Disney and other entertainment giants.

It feels like a scathing take from Dana Terrace after her show, The Owl House, at Disney was canceled prematurely. After a year of waiting, the second episode of “The Knights of Guinevere” has been released and we are finally getting to see this story continue. I couldn’t be more excited!

What’s Inspirational About ‘Knights of Guinevere’:

There are many things that are Inspiring about “The Knights of Guinevere”. From the stellar animation, to the thoughtful designs, visual story telling, setting, and script. All are immaculately done, however what really makes it stand out is its more mature look at dreams and how those can be consumed by corporate greed. What is most inspiring about this project though is how it is set up to change the animation industry.

The Knights of Guinevere is so monumental and exciting because we have a person who has worked in the professional animation industry for years stepping into the indie space. Dana Terrace is using her specially crafted skills to work on a project that most young fans of animation have never seen before. A mature project depicting violence, gore, trauma & emotional complexity rarely allowed in animation.

Dana Terrace has worked on many fantastic projects besides her two most recognized ones (Owl House & Knights of Guinevere). Such as Gravity Falls, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, The Michaels V.S. The Machines, Ducktales, & Amphibia. (All of which I recommend that you check out). So to see that kind of skill being brought into this side of the internet is fantastic!

With animation being so often associated with children's media it is hard for the general public to be comfortable with some darker, more violent stories existing in that medium. Hopefully opening up the market for more and more interesting, deep, and experimental animated projects. So it is exciting to see this indie shift take place in the industry.

Here are some Indie Animated Projects you should support:

Final Thoughts:

With more episodes scheduled to release on youtube I couldn’t be happier and I’ll be following it every step of the way. While I do believe that adding limitations or boundaries on art can really help an artist be creative and innovate it never feels right when corporations set those limits. Especially if those limits keep on changing mid production. It is so nice to see Dana Terrace be set free from these corporate limits.

Limits need to be set by the artist and the tools they have access to. That is what breeds ingenuity and creativity. I am so glad that Dana Terrace is working on a project where she is able to tell the story she wishes to tell within the limits she sets for herself. If you like this I’ll cover “The Knights of Guinevere” as it comes out and share my opinions as it grows.

Thank you for joining me on this exploration of what could be!

Let me know if you’d like to take a more in-depth journey into “The Knights of Guinevere” or any other projects! Thank you for coming along!

I’ll see you back at the Station!
